Tell us about yourself and what led you to the residency?
​
I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Miami, FL. I completed my BFA in Fiber Studies with a Minor in Experimental Fashion at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2022. I approach creating work through a layering of different processes such as drawing, screen printing, weaving and garment design. I am interested in creating artificial realms inspired by the natural world that allow me to explore ideas of personal mythology, magic realism and ecofeminism.

Have you had any previous experience with Digital Weaving or Jacquard?

Yes ! when I was an undergraduate student at MICA

Any goals for the residency you'd like to share?

I want to continue exploring the relationship between drawing and weaving and the loss of visual information that occurs when I translate my drawings into a digital realm.
