Notes about residency timing
*
Anything you'd like to tell us about the timing of your residency? We will do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs.
Statement of purpose
*
Tell us about the project you plan to work on using the TC2 Jacquard Loom. 750 words max.
Prior experience
We recommend that residents arrive at Praxis with their project files prepared, as this will allow you to maximize your time on the loom. If you have not prepared files for the TC2 before, we strongly suggest that you take Jacquard File Design I and Jacquard File Design II, both virtual classes taught by Cathryn Amidei. Praxis staff will provide residents with some technical support on the TC2. This will be in the form of a half day of in-person support on day 1 of the residency, twice weekly check ins and communication by phone with for the remainder of the residency.
Describe your experience level with the TC2 Jacquard Loom.
*
What do you anticipate needing in terms of technical support with file preparation, loom setup, or weaving on the TC2?
*
Loom Configuration
*
3 modules wide (43") 30 epi
The loom will be configured at 3 modules wide, 30 epi and 44" weaving width. Total threads = 1,320. Please indicate this will work for your proposal.
Warp
*
Black mercerized cotton
I will provide my own warp
We will provide 10 yards of black mercerized cotton for each resident. You also have the option of tying on your own warp. What warp will you be using?
