Tell us about yourself and what led to the Residency?
I am an interdisciplinary artist who focuses between weaving, metalworking, photography, and biology. I graduated from MICA with a BFA in Fiber in 2025, and attended two workshops at LMRM for CMYK and painted warps. I was drawn to the TC2 throughout my undergrad as a perfect combination of photography, digital design, and weaving. I enjoy the physicality that this process demands and the infinite complexity of translating patterns into a digital landscape. After graduating, I lost access to my favorite way of making art, and Praxis was an entry point back into the world of TC2.
Have you had any previous experience with Digital Weaving or Jacquard?
I have woven for 4 years on TC2 looms at MICA and have taken workshops at LMRM. Additionally, I was the loom technician in my final year at MICA.
Any goals for the residency that you would like to share?
My main goal is to create several extremely long weavings from panorama imagery. Finally, I want to explore utilizing multiple wefts (up to 4!) to create dynamic color exchanges.
