Tell us about yourself and what led to the Residency?

I am a Belgian/American designer and researcher based in Iceland with a focus in textiles. Whenever flying to the US I make the most of it and was able to extend my planned trip for a friend’s wedding to also be able to come back to Praxis to further develop some jacquard projects I have had in the works.

Have you had any previous experience with Digital Weaving or Jacquard?

Yes, this will be my 4th TC2 residency and after participating in the Textile Museum's Advanced Textile Program last fall I have many ideas to continue to explore.

Any goals for the residency that you would like to share?

I have a few projects I will be chipping away at during my two weeks. Some of them related to older projects related to Iceland’s glaciers and newer ones exploring multilayered fabrics and off loom manipulation of the fabrics either by cutting, stuffing, scrunching, and/or dyeing them.
