Tell us about yourself and what led to the Residency?

I'm a fibre artist based in Toronto. My practice focuses on using material and pattern as form-generating systems. This residency provides the technical support and resources necessary to further develop my 3D weaving practice.

Have you had any previous experience with Digital Weaving or Jacquard?

Yes, I have worked on a TC2 during my MFA at the Parsons School of Design and have taken a few online file design classes with Cathryn. I'm still learning to work with TC2, so I'm grateful for the support from this residency!

Any goals for the residency that you would like to share?

During my residency at the Praxis Fiber Workshop, my project focused on developing self-supporting three-dimensional woven structures, investigating how woven textiles can transition from two-dimensional surfaces into three-dimensional forms through material activation and structural programming.
