Tell us about yourself and what led to the Residency?

As a weaver, I love learning about different looms and weaving techniques, so naturally I was drawn to the TC2 when I first heard about it. I heard about the residency through Victoria Manganiello and Nicole Yi Messier (both of whom have completed the residency before), and they thought I would really enjoy digital weaving. I have been exploring architectural/3D weaves, and having two weeks to focus on those techniques on the TC2 is what made me decide to do the residency now. I am really excited for my time at Praxis!

Have you had any previous experience with Digital Weaving or Jacquard?

I have used Pointcarre to design digital weaves, but made small samples of those designs on a hand loom. I have never woven on a digital loom or jaquard before, and am looking forward to my first experience.

Any goals for the residency that you would like to share?

My goals for the residency are learning how to use the TC2, and experimenting with architectural weaves on a digital loom
