Tell us about yourself and what led to the Residency?

I am an animator who has become enamored weaving. I heard about the residency through a previous Digital Weaving Lab resident Anne Greenwood.

Have you had any previous experience with Digital Weaving or Jacquard?

No

Any goals for the residency that you would like to share?

I am so grateful to the Regional Arts and Culture Council (RACC) in Oregon for giving me a professional opportunity grant that is making it possible for me to work with this exquisite TC2 contraption. I am also very appreciative that Praxis offers a residency program and local programs to make this beast more accessible to people who aren’t enrolled in a college weaving program. My main objectives are to better understand what is possible with jacquard weaving and explore some limited animation tests and design adventures that I would not otherwise be able to achieve without the TC2.
