Tell us about yourself and what led to the Residency?
My art practice often combines digital and analog equipment to explore nostalgia, duplication/replication, and the evolution of technology. I learned to use the floor loom at a recent residency at The Studios of MASS MoCA, which in its former life was a textile factory. Since then, I have been looking for an opportunity to experiment with digital weaving. My day job is co-directing an artist residency and community art-making hub, Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, CA so it's fun to be an artist-in-residence and be on the artmaking side of the artist residency field.
