Tell us about yourself and what led to the Residency?

I've only been weaving for a few years, but I'm completely obsessed with it. My background is in photography and collage, and I have an MFA in Photography from the University of Florida. I'm excited to experiment with jacquard weaving to see if I can translate some of my collage imagery into woven cloth.

Have you had any previous experience with Digital Weaving or Jacquard?

I took a really helpful online workshop with Jovencio de la Paz.

Any goals for the residency that you would like to share?

I'm hoping to make woven pieces with imagery, but also to push it beyond just a straight translation of an image onto cloth. I want to play with different woven structures to add a real textural element to the pieces.
