Tell us about yourself and what led to the Residency?

I am an interdisciplinary artist from Whistler BC, Canada. I create text based weavings inspired by digital conversations. Through the tactility of the soft, cozy, and handmade, I use touch to speak further about my fear of intimacy while exploring questions such as: Can the screen mediate our interactions and foster meaningful connections? What do we lose or gain from virtual communication?

Have you had any previous experience with Digital Weaving or Jacquard?

I first learned how to weave on the TC2 loom during a residency at the Icelandic Textile Center, and have been chasing these looms around the world ever since.
