Call for Proposals

Praxis is now accepting proposals for seminars, workshops, or short presentations for the 2026 Bridges + Connections Conference.

This conference activates the spaces between disciplines, building bridges across materials, media, and ways of making. We are especially interested in work that moves between the haptic and the virtual, expands beyond traditional weaving, and invites new frameworks for connection across craft, material research, and design.

We aim to create new interactions, new visibility, new knowledge sharing, and an expanded field of who can see themselves inside this framework of making.

What we are exploring

Materiality
How do you use materials? How do they relate, connect, transform, or resist?

Conceptuality
What ideas, frameworks, and lines of inquiry shape your making?

Process
Do you have warping, winding, weaving, machine, or hybrid innovations you want to share? Loom hacks welcome.

Design
Software, systems, formal approaches, tool building, how do you design the experience of making?

Presentation Modes
