Tell us about yourself and what led to the Residency?

My work tends to explore themes of discomfort and unease within the human experience. The project I will be focusing on is about my brain injury that I have been healing from over the last 7 months. Using the TC2 as a way to explore my emotions surrounding the fall and create visual depictions of my daily visual struggles.

I’m a recent graduate from FIT and graduated with an associates degree in textile design. I have always been curious about how the TC2 can be used as a medium within the fine arts world.

Have you had any previous experience with Digital Weaving or Jacquard?

Yes, when I was getting my bachelors degree at the University of Oregon I learned the basics. I then did an independent study on the TC2 while at the Fashion Institute of Technology getting a degree in textile design.

Any goals for the residency that you would like to share?

My goals are to master multiple weft colors within my designs.
