Miller received her B.F.A. in Textiles from Kent State University in 2014 and her M.F.A. in Fibers from Eastern Michigan University in 2017. She has exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States, and recently completed a residency at the Glasgow Independent Studios in Glasgow Scotland. Her current body of work compares packaging materials and textiles as temporary commodities that are purchased and discarded at rapid rates. In order to appreciate the usefulness of packing materials, Miller spent a considerable amount of time studying these materials to then replicate them in forms of textiles and objects. Her final works are intricately beautiful and offer opportunity for the viewer to consider their sensory memory of packaging materials through the filter of cloth. http://www.erinrmiller.com Erin R.
