‘Divergence’ is an installation of organic, sculptural forms created by Susan McClelland and Clare Murray Adams as a point of departure in the common ground of fiber work that exists for the two artists. Using the embroidery/quilting hoop as one of their points of departure the two artists started their work with this form as the underlying structure of the resulting fiber pieces. September 2nd – October 29th Opening Reception: September 2nd from 5 – 7pm. http://www.claremurrayadams.com http://susan-mcclelland.com Following the opening reception at 8PM will be a concert by Oblivion Project-Nuevo Tango of Astor Piazzolla, part of the Underground Classical concert series at Praxis Fiber Workshop. THE OBLIVION PROJECT, formed in 2003, is dedicated to the exploration and performance of the over 3000 Nuevo Tango works of Argentine tango master Astor Piazzolla. For the past decade, musicians from all across the Americas have collaborated to explore and share the uncompromisingly unique, unequivocally attractive language of Piazzolla’s tangos. The group is based in the musical crossroads of Cleveland. The group has had several outstanding successes including a sold-out debut at Severance Hall with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, a residency with the nationally-acclaimed Contemporary Youth Orchestra, and a slew of other performances both educational and entertaining at a variety of venues. http://www.undergroundclassical.org/#!oblivion-project/mqx4o *Free, but donations are appreciated.
