2PINK4U?June 3 + 5, 2022
Opening reception: June 3rd, 6–8pm Bentley, a rising senior in Sculpture + Expanded Media at the Cleveland Institute of Art is excited to announce 2PINK4U?, a pop-up solo exhibition with large-scale tufted artworks that transform images of feminine fragility into badges of feminine strength. The artwork in the exhibition creates tokens of strength by recontextualizing gendered motifs such as flowers and the color pink by pairing them with empowering imagery. The exhibition is the capstone of Bentley’s time as an intern for Cleveland Institute of Art’s Creativity Works internship program. Creativity Works is a self-initiated internship program with the goal of supporting a student’s professional development. Participating students create proposals that align with their long-term professional goals. This program is made possible by the generous support of the Fenn Educational Fund and the G.R. Lincoln Family Foundation. For more information, please visit @bbentleigh on Instagram. |
