Tell us about yourself and what led you to the residency?

I'm a weaver who has worked with digital Jacquard looms off and on for around 20 years. I learned of the Digital Weaving Residencies at Praxis through Cathryn Amidei and look forward to weaving on the TC2 in the DWL!

Have you had any previous experience with Digital Weaving or Jacquard?

Yes! I've woven on the TC1 looms at Eastern Michigan (when they had them) and also wove some pieces on a TC1 at another weaver's home in Delray Beach, FL. I've taken workshops from Cathryn Amidei at her home in Ann Arbor as well as at the Jacquard Center in Hendersonville, NC. I've also woven on another weaver's TC2 in her home studio in Arlington, VA.

Any goals for the residency you'd like to share?

My primary goal for the residency is to reconnect with digital Jacquard weaving and continue to build on my previous knowledge and experiences with digital weaving. I plan to weave new work for my portfolio and for future sales and exhibits.
